North Harrison will hold a Health Fair on Thursday, November 21 in the Multi-Purpose Room from 1:30 - 6:00 PM. A list of health fair participants follows which will include some participants who target children and others that are more targeted for community members. All community members are invited to participate.
Harrison County Community Hospital
HCCH will provide information about its hospital and medical clinic services. There will be giveaways for all students and community members. HCCH will also offer coupons for significant discounts on four lab screenings:
Blood will not be drawn on site, so individuals do not need to fast before the health fair. Individuals may visit HCCH to get their blood drawn. Coupons will be valid through Dec. 20.
Home Health of Harrison County Community Hospital
The Home Health staff will be offering flu shots which are fully covered by Medicare and Medicade. For individuals paying out of pocket, the cost is $25.00. Home Health staff members will also provide free blood pressure checks and information about their services.
Green Hills Community Action Agency
The Green Hills Community Action Agency provides a variety of programs for low-income individuals and families in a nine-county area of Northern Missouri.
Harrison County Sheriff's Department
The Sheriff's Department will offer free finger printing for the students and demonstrate "drunk goggles" to simulate the effects of alcohol impairment. In partnership with the DEA, the Sheriff's Department will also be accepting expired or unneeded medications for safe disposal.
Northwest Health Service/Cainsville Clinic
The Cainsville Clinic will provide fire safety tips
Harrison County Health Department
The Health Department will offer information about their education programs, public health services, and Harrison County Hospice.
North Harrison Ambulance
The ambulance crew will have health and safety information.
Senior Life Solutions
Senior Life Solutions, a part of HCCH, will provide information about their group counseling program for older adults dealing with stresses brought on by aging, loss of spouse, or changes in mental and physical abilities.
CLAIM (Community Leaders Assisting the Insured of Missouri)
CLAIM is a nonprofit organization that provides free, unbiased information about Medicare to Missourians. Local counselors answer questions and help individuals get the most from their Medicare benefits.
